Mohawk Paper Tour
Every other month there's a Coffee with Creatives organized by Curtis Canham and our local AIGA Chapter. Its an amazing event that brings designers together to connect, network, laugh, talk shop, and drink coffee. It's held in multiple locations all across Upstate NY and the attendance continues to grow with each event. This last Coffee with Creatives took place in 7 cities at the same time across Upstate New York!
We attended the Coffee with Creatives event held at Mohawk Paper in Cohoes NY.
After getting our caffeine fix, we were given a short presentation of Mohawk's "A Maker's Field Guide: to Texture and Color" by Mohawks Creative Director, Chris Harrold. This guide is intended to remind designers of the value of fine paper. It showcases how printed work (and even digital products) can be enhanced through texture, color and the power of a printed piece and gives designers a valuable tool to share with their clients.
After the short presentation, we were given a tour of the paper factory (sorry, we cant share photos of that. Top Secret!). We're always interested in learning about all aspects of the design process, and it was great to see how much craft and chemistry goes into making a beautiful sheet of paper.
Thank you Mohawk paper and AIGA Upstate NY for the great event. Cant wait for the next one!
