Y USA Healthy Kids Day
A fresh, playful, and youthful campaign designed to promote YUSA’s Healthy Kids Day®, a day-long event devoted to educating children and families about healthy habits as they head into summer.
CLIENT BACKGROUND
Every year, hundreds of Ys across the country host Healthy Kids Day®, a day-long event devoted to educating children and families about healthy habits as they head into summer. Healthy Kids Day® is also an invitation for families to explore camp and summer learning opportunities at the Y. We collaborated with the Y- USA marketing team to develop a fresh theme and visual language to promote the event.
Previously, we worked with Y USA on Healthy Kids Day®, and we developed the theme "Awaken Summer Imagination.” They wished to continue with that theme the following year but evolve it with custom photography and illustrations focusing more on healthy activities. The entire design refresh included English and Spanish versions of banners, posters, t-shirts, social media and web assets, and an attention-grabbing sticker for shipment boxes.

Communicate the event’s theme in a playful, youthful, attention-grabbing way focusing on health while working within the Y USA brand.

Theme Evolution
While developing the original “Awaken Summer Imagination” campaign, we were challenged to use existing Y USA photography due to time and budget constraints. While that campaign was successful, the following year Y USA gave us creative control to build upon the original concept. We were given the budget and time to develop photography specifically for this campaign. We worked with a local photographer and strategically selected models resulting in even stronger visuals than the previous year.
Print Materials
Printed materials included t-shirts, posters, banners, and a sticker for shipping materials for the event to Y locations across the United States.
Digital Assets
Various digital assets were created to promote the event including an animated graphic, multiple options for Facebook cover images, Twitter and Facebook posts, and web banners. Web banners were created in three different sizes in English and Spanish.
